@VMODES in global windows

02 November 2004 - 02:36 PM

I have a screen in which the operator can select to add/edit/view a record; depending on this, a global window (A) pops up, allowing to add a new record, edit/view an existing one (depending on the choice). In this first global window (A) i'm setting @VMODES accordingly (only A/C/L). This global window then calls a second global window (:huh:, in which i would like to allow not just Lookup, but Add and Change as well.

I've tried to reset the @VMODES variable at the entry of this new global window (B) - using @VMODES = '' -, but it's not working. I've also tried to play around changing the last read field, unsuccessfully.

Would anyone have any suggestion regarding how to fix this problem? It looks like the second (and posterior) global windows follow the mode which was set in the calling function, and there's no way to change this.

Thanks...

Holding Fields

26 May 2004 - 03:59 PM

i changed a function in which i added a Holding Field; when the cursor stops in this new field, for some reason the Enter key does not "move" the cursor to the next field. i tried writting a test function in which this works, no matter what position among the list of fields the Holding Field has.

has anyone ever seen something like it?

problems with Pro-IV v 5.5 installation

21 January 2003 - 05:44 PM

hi guys. perhaps any of you has already experienced the problem i'm about to detail here...

i have a wxp workstation in which i had installed v 5.5; i needed to do some work in an earlier version (4.6), so i uninstalled v 5.5 and rebooted the pc. i installed v 4.6 and did the work i had to; earlier today i uninstalled v 4.6 and rebooted the pc. i then re-installed v 5.5 and when i try to run it, i get a windows error message 'failed to create empty document'. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the v 5.5 several times. i also went to the windows registry and deleted every reference to p4 i could find, but the problem is still there.

if anyone is aware of this situation or knows how to fix it, please let me know. i can't work with p4 no more due to this error.

thanks in advance!
