hi guys. perhaps any of you has already experienced the problem i'm about to detail here...

i have a wxp workstation in which i had installed v 5.5; i needed to do some work in an earlier version (4.6), so i uninstalled v 5.5 and rebooted the pc. i installed v 4.6 and did the work i had to; earlier today i uninstalled v 4.6 and rebooted the pc. i then re-installed v 5.5 and when i try to run it, i get a windows error message 'failed to create empty document'. i have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the v 5.5 several times. i also went to the windows registry and deleted every reference to p4 i could find, but the problem is still there.

if anyone is aware of this situation or knows how to fix it, please let me know. i can't work with p4 no more due to this error.

I recall there was a registery issue with the ocx client that has now been fixed. Try removing the proivClient.ocx from your install dir and see if that resolves it. If not, try and install into a new dir.
