G'Day Rob,
I found an instance where I wanted to export the results of a logic search to a file. You have given the ability to print or add the functions to a list, but you can't copy it to a file or even copy it to the clipboard.
Not a major issue, but it would be nice...
Thanks,
Terry

Configure IDE for Read-Only or Read/Write Mode
14 December 2006 - 05:20 AM
G'Day Rob,
I have a situation where the IDE is installed on a Sun Solaris machine that has several environments (1 DEV & several that are used for testing).
We are now looking to add a second dev environment using one of the test environments.
We are able to read and manipulate the PROIV code using IDE, but can't save it back. The message "Cannot Save Item, System is in Read Only mode" displays.
I had a quick peek for any obvious config files/options in the IDE tools panel, but can't see anything that looks appropriate.
Can you provide a solution?
Cheers,

I've Joined PRO IV and want to say G'Day

G’Day,
I want to inform the general PRO IV population that I’ve recently joined PRO IV Inc, as Director, Business Development.
For those of you who don’t know me, I’ve been in the PRO IV arena since 1986, initially working on the ASC Suite of software in Miami, Florida.
I left the U.S. for Australia where I continued to work in ASC and with various other systems for 12 years.
I returned to the U.S. when the South East Asian economy went to ‘hell in a hand basket’ and eventually formed PRO RAD, Inc. which concentrated on ChESS and Glovia clients.
I must have had the longest interview in history, in that PRO IV and I started talking about me joining them in early 1997. I didn’t think the time was right and we continued to talk every year or so until late December, 2000, when I finally decided to stop criticizing from the outside and have an impact from the inside.
I’ve lived and breathed PRO IV since 1986 and thought a forum such as this made perfect sense. You might have seen my first attempt at creating a forum for PRO IV users (Terry’s PRO-IV Home Page - http://www.ozemail.com.au/~tdallen/). (Yes, I’m ‘THAT’ Terry Allen). I started this in early 1990 and just didn’t get time to work on it. I’ve tried to get the ISP to remove it without success.
I think we all agree that Rob Donovan has done a wonderful job and I thank him for his efforts.
My current focus centers on the Eastern Seaboard of the U.S. (everything east of the Mississippi), but my overall focus is to help make using PRO IV as a development environment easier for all of us worldwide. I work closely with John Letham and Scott Fitzpatrick and hope to bring an end-users view of what should happen with PRO IV to the owners and developers of the technology.
I’ve had a sneak preview of the latest version of PRO IV and can assure you that it’ll knock your socks off. The work that’s gone into this new offering is simply astounding. You can liken it to the advances in the technology when they implemented function keys and windows (yes, I’ve been around that long!!!).
I’m still in the early days of setting up office, finding my feet, etc., but I thought it important to post a quick note on robdon.com to introduce myself, pass along my email addresses (tallen@proivinc.com and terry@proradinc.com) and tell you that good things are happening…
Cheers
