Thanks for the pointers. We are using ProIV 5.5 312, and SQL Server 2000 with all available service packs. The OS
is Windows 2K. The same application runs ok in Oracle. The file definition seems to match the table definition -- there
are only two (alpha) columns in the table. Although we have experience with ProIV/Oracle the ProIV/MS-SQL combination
is new to us. We are in contact with ProIV support and we'll post the solution as soon as we know what is wrong.

I only hope ProIV have plans to implement this feature. It's one of those things that would not take long to implement and would provide a good performance boost in some apps.
