Incorporating a signature file

29 April 2008 - 08:14 PM

Any ideas on the best way to incorporate a file containing a signature into a Proiv report?

Using PCL codes in Proiv report to create a form and need a signature at the bottom via a file.

File type is not determined yet but say it's .bmp for now.

Any suggestions much appreciated!

Best method for remote connections to proiv

10 March 2008 - 03:06 PM

Hello,

We are looking at options for allowing remote connections to a common proiv server via the web.

I have the Web client installed and working but I'm wondering if this is the best option. I don't want to spend a lot of time on an unsupported product.

Basically:
1.) I need an easy method to provide clients a GUI connection over the internet. I do not want to mail them anything that needs to be installed.

2.) They also must have the ability to print from the proiv server to a printer that is on their network and the reports have escape sequences.

Any suggestions, ideas, thoughts would be greatly appreciated!!

Thank-you,
Cathy

Report Editor

08 February 2008 - 08:21 PM

Can anyone tell me how to set the Report Editor value on a Windows Server running Proiv 5.5 r5.5.6?

I set the value in PROIV.INI but it seems to just ignore it.

I'm using the server as a stand alone demo system. I have several directories with different proiv applications so I'm using the USER section of the pro4.ini to direct the client to the proper directory. I'm using the INIPATH= to point to the ini file in each directory that holds the specifics.

If I set ReportEditor= in either the PROIV.INI file or the individual ini file that is being pointed to in the PRO4.INI file, it just seems to ignore it and opens the document in the text editor.

Thanks in advance for any help,
Cathy

Print to file directory in Linux 5.5

27 August 2007 - 04:18 PM

Does anyone know what variable defines the directory that reports will print to when using the "print to file" option on Linux version 5.5 r543?

Under SCO Unix, it just prints to the PRODATA directory but on my Linux installation it keeps going to the current working directory.

I have set PRODATA, PROIVDEFAULT, PROPATH and PROIVTEMP but the files created from the report functions keep going to the current working directory.

Thank-you,
Cathy

Printing in Linux vs. Unix

16 August 2007 - 02:55 PM

We are a SCO Unix house and recently installed Proiv 5.5 on our first RH Linux 3.0 ES server so I'm new to Linux.

Everything seems to work about the same for the most part except printing.

The printer codes that I send in my Proiv functions seem to be ignored entirely under Linux.

We're using CUPS on the Linux servers and the printers are jetdirects.

Does anyone know off-hand how to configure under cups to have the print job simply passthrough?

Thank-you,
Cathy
