Although the online help for both version 7 & 8 states that the "maximum default" proisam record size is 3,000, the site where I'm currently working is using iscr to create files with a record length of 6,000 under version 7 - can anyone clarify the situation, please?

-rrec-length Specifies the maximum record length of all files in the list that are to be created. Since the files do not yet exist, wildcard specifications are not permitted in the filename list with the -r option. The default maximum PROISAM record length is 3000.
