Hi,
The site will be down for around 30 minutes this Sunday (27th August) while I upgrade the mySQL DB and PHP versions.
This is so that I can look into upgrading the forum software and also Media Wiki.
No changes should be visible to anyone as its just backend stuff, but if you see anything 'strange' please give me a shout.
Thanks,
Rob Donovan.

Hi,
Yes I have noticed the problem with response times.
I did a clearup last week, and it didnt really help.
I've also contacted my host, but they gave me the normal 'there have been no changes our end' reply. Even though they did something cause I spotted a server reboot
Single DB requests are taking anything from .10 of a second to 5 seconds in tests, so something is wrong.
Upgrading the DB involves a Export / Import, so I'm hoping that it might help.
If not, then I will step up the presure on my host company...
Rob.

Hi,
Ok everything has been upgraded.
The new DB that I upgraded to was on another server, and that server is much quicker.
There seemed to be a problem with the old server and mySQL, which was making the pages load slowly (ie slow query times).
Any problems, please give me a shout...
