Hi,

I'm thinking about changing the site to use a 'pre packaged' forum.

We are now getting close to 6000 posts since I created this site.

When I first wrote the software for the site, I did not really imagine so many posts :)

The new forum software would give us new features and will cope better with lots of posts. The only 'down' side to moving would be that the new software would not have the ability to include ProIV specific info, like the ProIV version flags for each post.

Follow this link to see the software I would use.

Tell me what you all think....

But I want to know what you lot think, cause I have to keep my users happy :)

The information we get from this site is great. You could make us all use secret decoder rings and stand on one foot and hop while viewing, and we would still visit the site regularly.
What ever is easiest for you is what you should do!!!
We are happy just to be here!!

How many posts do I need to make before I qualify for my free decoder ring ???

Seriously though Rob, I don't think people care what it looks like - it's the content that matters. Personally I don't use the extra fields very often. They have been useful for searches once or twice but quite often people don't fill them in correctly anyway.

Cheers

Mike

Would it be possible to access the old posts if you move to the new format ?.

Hi,

Yes, I will migrate all the data from this forum into the new forum.

Including posts, jobs and all the users. There is not so much detail for the users, but name & location will be migrated.

Rob D.
