Any ideas on the best way to incorporate a file containing a signature into a Proiv report?
Using PCL codes in Proiv report to create a form and need a signature at the bottom via a file.
File type is not determined yet but say it's .bmp for now.
Any suggestions much appreciated!

You can import a raster image file into pro and save it in a table.
Then your report reads the data and sends the PCL one line at
a time. Not trivial - you need to create the PCL as you read
in the data one char at a time and store it in your p4 table
- but it's possible. We do this to print logos on payslips.

Cathy,
As you've probably already noticed, ProIV's reporting capabilities really could do with an overhaul.
Take a look at some postings that others have made regarding the same angst about the quality of ProIV reports.

In fairness to PROIV the question must be asked as to why they would spend lots of time/money on enhancing the reporting capabilities, as there are 1000's of companies and/or technologies that specialize in this already e.g. Crystal, JetForms etc. As the data can be output in XML it is up to the end user to decide on what technology they wish to employ to format/print their data in. We use PlanetPress - a bit pricey - but not bad.
Things should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler

Use JasperReports which is an open source product.
http://www.jaspersoft.com/
Ideally suits with PROIV.
In case you use databases, Jasper Reports connects to most of them.
In case you use PRO-ISAM, there is also a way.
In case you want to know more please see their web site or email me at deepghosh@yahoo.com
My advice would be to do it properly, not by embedding printer specific codes. Jasper supports pictures, logos, watermarks and barcodes.
They also have a IDE with drag and drop features.
