Hello All - Has anyone had the PROIV Service for version 7 not start when server is booted? We have a new customer running on Windows Small Business Server 2011 with SQL Server running in a virtual server under VMware. Thanks. Lew

We've had this problem quite often. The first thing to do is look at all the logs in the proiv home folder. Did the services ever start? If so, you could start them manually, stop them manually and then reboot the server. This has worked a couple of times for us.

This is your captain speaking. We may experience some slight turbulance and then...explode.

Marion,

Is this a continuing problem? We moved to a different server and all is well now. We had never seen this before. We had a separate DB server and were thinking we might have a permissions issue. Could not find any. What kind of configuration are you on? (OS, separate db server, PROIV version, etc.) Thanks.

Hi,
We've had the problem with various configurations. Sometimes there's a problem with the installation process (a problem ProIV support are aware of) and sometimes the services just seem to get themselves confused. It's in the latter situation where we've found stopping the services manually before rebooting the server can be beneficial.

I have a few questions:

1. How often does the service need to be restarted?
2. Are the issues the same even though the configurations are different?
3. What platform are the problems exhibited on?

We were told it may be an issue with the version of Java on the server.
Thanks. Lew
