Hi All,
Does anyone know about an Oracle error "ORA-02195: Attempt to create PERMANENT object in a TEMPORARY tablespace".
Is this something to do with the Oracle table sizing?

No - I think it's even more obvious than that.
The current user probably has their default
tablespace set to temporary and is attempting
to create e.g. table or is possibly running a script
that specifies a type TEMP tablespace.
Oracle TEMP tablespace is for large sorts etc.

Hi Chris, It turned out that the tablespace TEMP was the default file called TEMP01.DBF and the application was looking to write to TEMP.ORA and so I renamed the TEMP to TEMP01 and then created TEMP and it worked fine. Thank you.
