FYI: We finally got our secure (SSL / telnets) client running against RedHat Linux 9.0.

What ended up being the most difficult issue to solve was as follows: If your PIV has a line that reads

kCommandStackSize=some number

and you try to set kEnableSecureConnection=1 - bad things happen.

When you try to initiate the PIV, the CPU on the workstation goes to 100% and a window never opens. You have to to kill the task. Not realizing that this was a GUI client issue, several hours were wasted thinking it was a setup issue with openssl.

Take out the line that begins kCommandStackSize, and you should connect fine - or at least get a meaningful error if not everything is seutp.

Good Luck to any who try this!

Regards,

Joseph

Joseph,

Just the reason we have this site. If everyone took the time and posted bits of knowlege as Joseph has here, this site would be one hell of a tool.

Thanks Joseph.
