The program is working for 2 year until we changed our client OS from windows 98 to windows XP (a big pain in the head). Again I'm using proiv kernel version 4.0 and the client is version 4.1 build 127.

Rick, I still can't execute my program.

thanks,

OK, but that doesn't really affect my point does it?

Since the logic is interpreted on the (unix) server, surely the execution of a unix rm command should be entirely local and have no effect at the client.

Isn't SYSTEM('GUI... just a way of shipping a command to the client platform - ie. a special case that could equally have been an entirely separate SYSTEM-GUI() statement or something similar?
Nothing's as simple as you think

we encountered the same issue.

the problem was resolved when we changed the command prompt default on the GUI client from '%' to '$'.

no harm in trying.
