Problems with the site

Hi,

Sorry, but had problems with my host company AGAIN, and they managed to destroy the connection to the MySQL DB

I've managed to get it back up any working now.

However, these guys are rubbish and don't really understand what they are doing or communicate with their customers, and I've had lots of problems with them, so I'm going to move to a new host.

Also, I know people have been wanting to register on the site, and I have that disabled at the moment, as I've had lots of hackers and spam attacks also.

On the new servers, I will upgrade to the latest forum software, so hopefully I will be able to enable new accounts again.

It might be a few days till I find a new host, and get moved over, and there might be a period where it will be unavailable again, while I copy the DB over and the DNS servers get the new IP addresses.

Problems with the site the last few days

Sorry about the 'lack' of service the last few days.

My provider asked me if I wanted to move to a new server, and they were supposed to copy the site to the new server and give me a new url for testing with.

However, they managed to mess things up, all over the place and effect the 'this' server also

After 3 days of them not really answering my support calls, I figured out that they had reset my mySQL password to an old password, and that was obviously causing problems

IT Support, eh.... gotta love it

Anyway, I've got them to drop the 'moving to the new server' until they fix their procedures better, and also I found a major security flaw in the new server also, which I wasn’t happy with.

So, for now... hopefully we are back in business....

Oh I cant reply to any emails at the moment either, because they screwed that up also, so I'll get to them soon, hopefully.

CSC are looking for a developer to work in Sweden.

CSC are seeking an experienced Pro-IV programmer to work on the Billing, Provisioning and Customer Administration system for a telecom client in Karlskrona, Sweden.

Ideally, you will have 3-5 years recent commercial experience with Pro-IV.

This will be a 6 month contract initially, with good prospects to be extended.

The successful candidate will be working in the development team and will be expected to perform design, development & testing.

Excellent communication skills, the ability to work as a part of a team and being able to meet tight deadlines are a must.

Excellent Pro-IV skills are essential. Good knowledge of UNIX and C-ISAM is desired, but not essential. Previous work on the ISIS system is useful, but not essential.

Candidates from the EU are preferred, although work visa sponsorship may be considered for excellent candidates.

Upgrade of forum software

Hi,

I plan to upgrade the forum software to a newer release this weekend, so the forums will be down for a bit.

Hopefully it will only be down for 15 minutes or so.
