In Topic: legacy version of proiv upgrade to access

18 December 2018 - 03:32 PM

Milton,

I was successful in creating an SEQ file from proiv but it has 29 separate fields and I am having trouble getting them into access.  You mentioned you had a java toolkit that would work for me and that might be just what I need.  I'm not real familiar with java, but would you let me know how I can obtain this toolkit I would certainly appreciate it.  Thank you again for your help.

Milton,

I just got back from my customer's location and after several mistakes on my part, I was successful in converting the customer file to a sequential file that I can now convert and read it into access.  Thank you for your help and I want you to know I really appreciate it.  Thank you so much.

In Topic: Error 18 on Linux using update B mode

15 May 2001 - 10:24 AM

I ended up redesigning the function with a temp file. Originally, I had one file with 12 fields, each with a gl number and amount. I was trying to write the twelve gl numbers and create a new record or update an existing record with the amounts. I set a temp file with 12 records and then updated the amounts and it works fine. Thanks for all your suggestions.

In Topic: Error 18 on Linux using update B mode

I tried saving & restoring the keys and you are correct in that it didn't work. I am using the standard Pro-IV files and have five files defined. The first two are lookup mode and the keys are set in the update default logic. The next three files are mode B, (all the same file). In other words, I am reading one record, and writing three from that one. The third write has the same key as the first and gives me an error. In this instance, when I change the mode from B to C, I don't get the error. Thanks
