ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump

07 June 2007 - 06:52 AM

If you can help...I dont believe its the Unix semaphore's though they were increased recently...

I am having an issue with a 'virtual' workfile (Oracle). eg.The table is not a physical table that can be accessed via sql/toad.
Within the code it runs an SQL statement which it buffers into a 'virtual' workfile of oracle flavour.

This has historically worked fine, and although the database has grown it is now falling over.
When the statement runs I get a '363 - SQL ERROR: Database Connection Dropped'

with the following at the beginning of the Oracle trace file
ksedmp: internal or fatal error
ORA-07445: exception encountered: core dump [00000001029BDBB8] [SIGSEGV] [Address not mapped to object] [0x000000000] [] []

***insert lots of noise***

with the following at the end of the Oracle trace file
KSTDUMP: End of in-memory trace dump
ssexhd: crashing the process...

ProIV server to Oracle server pipe issues

15 August 2006 - 01:28 AM

Just wanted to open a discussion on the limited capabilities of com's between servers.
Currently we run an App server with ProIV that links to an Oracle cluster (Database :) ). The issue is the limited communications between the two resources due to a single comm's channel.

I realise that placing a ProIV instance on the cluster would alleviate this issue but that is not an option.

Has anyone managed to improve or resolve this issue? And how did you do it?
