Hi there,

We have just deployed a new Windows 2008 Server R2 64 bit Citrix server farm. The user runs the ProIV MFC Client via a published PIV file. Our data (rapid) entry operators are experiencing an issue where some of the numbers or decimal points are being lossed. We have TypeAhead set to enabled in the PIV file. We even tried to turn this off to see if Citrix caching would handle it but it was even worse with more data loss. We did experience this problem under our old Citrix Metaframe farm but not to the extent of the new one.

Have any of you other Citrix users experienced this type of problem and if so were you able to solve it?

Thanks
Ross

I would like to update everyone about this issue; it proved to be a ProIV Client issue, not Citrix. Owen Ivory from the Northgate irvine Office discovered the cause; changing the client toolbar can cause instability. In our case we only display the "A" and "a" icons for our user run-time PIV. The data loss I mention is when you have rapid data entry people keying in data faster than the cusor moves from field to field. This is what can happen if you alter the toolbar considerably:

The summary of our conclusions are:

If the client and the kernel reside on the same computer then the speed is relatively quick and there is no data loss regardless of whether the toolbar is full or just the Aa icons are present.
If the client is on a different machine and only the Aa icons are present on the toolbar then the speed is the same as 1 above but there is data loss.
If the client is on a different machine and the full toolbar is present then the speed is 44% slower but there is no data loss.
Running the client via Citrix is fractionally slower and the same pattern exists as stated above.

I recommend leaving the default toolbar intact until this problem is fixed.
