Is there a pre-defined environment variable I can reference that will tell me the .piv that is running? I am building a logging mechanism for imports/exports and would like to store the piv. I know I can add an environment variable to the piv, set this and then reference it but wondered if there was already something in place to give me this information.

yes and no. If you use the ClientManagement ocx there is a property available called pivName you can read.

ClientManagement.pivName

Surely picking up username at connection time would be better? Or aren't your users allowed to edit/change piv details?

Client.GetPivUserId might be an alternative...
