Dirty Data,

I would create a maintenance screen for the file, scroll through the individual records. When the bad data record appears, you'll know which record is bad. Delete it, or fix it, and be on your way.

Another thing you could try is to write an update that will back up File1 to File2, with a commit after each AWNE. When it fails, you'll know the record before the bad data record. Insert a counter and then rerun it. This time, though, DSEL the addition of this bad File1 record into File2. When File2 has all good records, recreate File1, which will erase everything, then reverse the copy update used to copy File1 to File2, so that it now copies File2 to File1. When all is said and done, you should only have good records.

HTH,
