We are an OS/390 site - running Pro-IV under CICS/MVS.

A 3rd party person has brought with him a UNIX platform transfer file - in ascii format. It it a utility that he wants to run on the mainframe.

When trying to import it via the MVS ASCEBC utility, I am getting the following.

PROCESSING NGB_TOOL
NO TABLE ENTRY FOR FILENAME
BYPASSED INPUT BLOCKS 221
BYPASSED INPUT RECORDS 2,652
BYPASSED OUTPUT RECORDS 0
BYPASSED UPDATED RECORD 0

TOTALS FOR ALL FILES PROCESSED
INPUT BLOCKS 221
INPUT RECORDS 2,652
OUTPUT RECORDS 0
UPDATED RECORD 0

ie. No output records.

The JCL Used was
//STEP0030 EXEC PGM=ASCEBC
//STEPLIB DD DSN=CI.CNPR4ZDX.LOADLIB,DISP=SHR
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//INFILE DD DSN=&INFILE,DISP=SHR
//OUTFILE DD DSN=BK.UNI3.PROXFR1,DISP=SHR
//SYSIN DD *
PROXFR1
/*

(Where the &INFILE is a FB 1024 binary transfer of the unix file).

The 3rd party person assures me that the file format is compatible between UNIX sites, and that there should be an OS/390 utility to read it in.

But it doesn't seem to like it.

Any ideas?

Craig

The place in the JCL that you have specified PROXFR1 , needs to be replaced with the name of the file as it was created on the Unix system. This your case this will be NGB_TOOL . This is shown in the output message:
PROCESSING NGB_TOOL
NO TABLE ENTRY FOR FILENAME
