Hello to everyone!!

I have a problem, I'm working with VIP and now I'm making a Report into a physical file delimited with ';'
with a master-detail structure, ex:

Master Field 1; Master Field 2; Master Field 3
Detail Field1; Detail Fiel2; Detail Field3
Detail Field1; Detail Field2; Detail Field3
Master Field 1; Master Field 2; Master Field3
Detail Field1; Detail Field2; Detail Field3
.. and so on...

Half of what he said meant something else, and the other half didn't mean anytthing at all

Alright, Ivan...since you've decided to go this way, I'll nudge you in the right direction. What you need is an update, or a report, that has 3 paging areas, 1 nested inside the other, and 1 paging area (if its an update replace paging area with nested updates) that is just for writing your details to the file you've ALIASed out and are using to write your Excel data to.

We're not using VIP here, so my terms are off, but I'm sure you can follow the flow of the diagram anyways...

LU1 - Master Files...BR....RE....ARNE....BW....AWNE
........Master_File.......................001
------LU2 - Detail Files
........Detail_File........................002

LU3
........FLAT...ADDmode..............003

Logics

001
$TYPE = 'M'
LSCALL $LU3

002
$TYPE = 'D'
LSCALL $LU3

003
CASE $TYPE
...WHEN 'M' : FLAT_LINE = MASTER_FIELD1 + ';' + MASTER_FIELD2 + ';' + etc, etc...
...WHEN 'D' : FLAT_LINE = DETAIL_FIELD1 + ';' + DETAIL_FIELD2 + ';' + etc, etc...
ENDCASE
THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL IS THE HEADLAMP OF THE TRAIN THAT'S ABOUT TO HIT YOU!!!
