Hi All,

I'm a user, not a developer.

I am running v4.6000 on a SCO Unix plattform. My Pro-IV data files have the file .pro. I need to be able to convert them for use in MS Excel. If I copy them (using " cp filename.pro /destination") I can see the file but cannot open it. I have tried changing the extension but that has not helped.

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Assuming your system is using the PRO-ISAM file system, you will need to write a PRO-IV update to load the data into a flat ASCII file for them to be readable.

...or use an ODBC driver.

Search the forum for TRANSOFT.

You'd really need to talk to your VAR.

Even if you used the ODBC interface, without knowing the database schema, you could spend weeks (or even months) hacking around to try to find what you are looking for.

Check with NetAware Technologies at http://www.net-aware.com. Tools available to extract data records from your pro-isam files to flat files or they will do it for you if you want.
