Hi

The Pro-IV "Error Dialog Box" - is it possible to set the wallpaper &
bitmap for use with this dialogue box.

Is the Error dialogue box - a Bootstrap function - what is the name of it -
has anyone previously written a function to replace this Bootstrap - what is
the "spec" for such a programme - or has anyone the source of this
bootstrap.

We've set a wallpaper/bitmap for use in our application screens and would
also like to be able to synchronise the Look&Feel of the Error Msgs ?

Tnks

Jim,

Are you talking about @RFUNCT?

If so, you can set @RFUNCT to your own error screen by saying @RFUNCT = 'function'. (This works basically the same as @PFUNCT and @LFUNCT).

hth,

Joseph

Hi

the original posting is referring to the Dialog Box thru which Pro-IV outputs the function MSG() statements and other system Error Messages

Is this a Global Function / Bootstrap - something that the wallpaper / bitmap could be changed

Come to think of it if it was a global - then could it be improved upon, as well as outputting the MSG - could it build up a log of all of the error messages that occur in the system, recording the function, operator, MSG - could be analysed then to see who/what problems most commonly occur and then prehaps remedy causes of this.

anyway - its the "appearance" of this MSG box that we are looking to modify

any ideas ?

George,

That is not a bad idea either. You could find out which operator is encountering the most problems.

Makes the potential for 'user hostile' interaction, well ........ lets not go there, except to say incorporating audio into error messages .. . .. .. . ..

Kind of thinking out loud.

yeah the idea on logging the errors should be already present, it has lots of value.

however it looks like Pro-IV have done a bit towards improving the Look & Feel of Apps - have they missed that the Error Dialog box also needs to be "appearance" configurable - I'll send this on to Pro-IV.
