Hi,
If you use any of the SEL commands, ProIV will still issue a SELECT statement based on the fields that you use, rather than all the fields.
I would use the SEL command unless you are doing something specific in the SQL to reduce the record set, as it simplifies the code.

Some places loop through looking at all Bal arrays, while some updates just use say BAL(9)...
Couldn't you use two different ProIV File Definitions with an Alternate to the same table to optimise this?
You have one defined as an array, the other with named fields and use the ALTERNATE name to map them on to the fields.
