Does anyone know how to change or remove the "PROIV - " from the GUI client main window title in version 5.5?

I would like to replace this with out company name or initials, so that the window shows "Texada Software - Function Title" instead of "PROIV - Function title"

I searched their documentation and this site, but couldnt find anything.

PROIV.INI file in WINDOWS directory

To use your own title:
ApplicationTitle=MyTitle

To use your own icon:
ApplicationIconFile=c:\ProivClient\icons\title.ico

Insert the following lines into your proiv.ini file, using your own icon and name

ApplicationIconFile=C:\PROIV\Bitmaps\Synapse.ico
ApplicationTitle=Synapse

Its amazing how much pro-iv's documentation helps when you know the word to search for.
Now that I know what it is called, I can find it straight away.

Version 5 upwards uses the windows registry and not the ini file in the windows directory.


Add a string value ApplicationTitle 'CompanyTitle'

yes, we are just debating that "feature" (or bit of idiocy ) here at the moment.

One of our customers uses a citrix farm, with a locked-down registry.
Which means that they have 400+ user logins where we cannot change the application name, application icon, or default report viewer on the fly, as we were able to do with the .ini file.

While writing a tool for the administrator to run on each citrix box to set the correct values for all users every time they add users is a solution, it isn't a nice one.

I will be contacting pro-iv about this to see if they have a solution.

FYI: We requested that ProIV allow these pieces to be set within the application. (Application.icon = "some file", etc.)

Since we run multiple applications, being able to set this once per workstation is not a significant benefit.

I believe that they have made this change for 6.0.
