I am having difficulty hardcoding a report to print to the attached printer. I have tried setting that in the spooler options and using @RPTOPT= and SET_RPTOPT. Does any one have any idea what the problem could be, and if there are any different methods to print to the attached printer.

There are several options to try, but I suggest to check first what others have already posted.

I did an "LPT" search here and this is what I found:

What the AP (attached printer) option does is to prefix (and suffix) the report with escape sequences defined in the TERMMAST entry for the Terminal type.

AFAIK this is a Green Screen only facility (but I don't use GUI so this may not be true!).

It relates to a facility of the VT100 (and above) terminals to support a local printer attached to the back of the terminal. Many VT emulators also support this, if you are running on a PC but emulating a terminal.

Those not as old as me :) expect it to do something different!

I have the VT escape sequences somewhere, if anyone care to have them!
