I need to evaluate PRO IV V4.6 r200 running on a LINUX platform
with C-ISAM.
I have installed 4.6r200 in evaluation mode, but the
C-ISAM libraries did not appear to be installed, thus

The pro-iv installation return me an error when I select Cisam Interface.
I am using Redhat Linux 10.

Hi

Did you get as far as linking the ProIV kernel? This comes after you have selected what options you want.

The C-ISAM library supplied by ProIV is called libisam.a

Have a look and see if the "kernlink" script was generated by the ProIV installation. This is used to link the appropriate libraries into ProIV, depending on the options you have selected (eg Oracle, CISAM, etc).

The kernlink file usually ends up in the directory you specified for the ProIV bootstraps.

Your kernlink script should contain libisam.a, and look something like this:

ld \
-o $PROBIN/pro \
-O2 \
-g0 \
-call_shared \
-ldnet_stub \
/usr/lib/cmplrs/cc/crt0.o  \
./main.o  \
./fsgstrm.o  \
./libsrck.a  \
./libser.a  \
./libutil.a  \
./libp4b.a  \
./libsrcu.a  \
./qgdbtab.o  \
./libsrcq.a  \
./libqutl.a  \
./extsub.o  \
./cstubs.o  \
./fsprisam.o  \
./libsrci.a  \
./fsclib.o  \
./fsprodbg.o  \
./fscisam.o  \
./libisam.a \
-qlots  \
./libsrcfs.a  \
./libfsnet.a  \
./libstub.a \
-lm \
-lc

Hi,

Similar issue with one of my clients ..... reason C-ISAM libraries not supported on Red Hat Linux 9 and subsequent versions.

Need to use Red Hat Linux AS/ES 2.1.

Regards

Dale
