Hi Rob

Any chance of having an edit post facility? Such that when one posts something anywhere between 'simple typo' to 'really stupid' to 'I shouldn't have posted that when I was pi$$ed off' - one can fix it?

I absolutely deny that the reason for the question, is because I was really stupid recently :) (don't say a word Schoener!)

I wouldn't worry. Your typos can't possibly be of the same standard as Robs, in't that right Rob ;-)

One could always go to the office supply store and get a 10 ml bottle of 'electronic' white out.

Then in that case, do as I do, and blame that @#$%&* keyboard. It's not my fault that the keyboard is . . . . .

Hi,

Yeap, I had thought about that when I wrote the software at the beginning. But thought that it was better that people could not change things (or remove) them cause then the chain of posts would not look correct.

At the moment I'm rather busy trying to get a version of my function editor working. (I got a bit behind since I didnt do much the last few months while I was moving to Oz)

When I find some spare time I'll try to do an edit button, but it will only work for users who are registered and logged in. (so that I can verify that you can only mod your only posts)

Rob D.

Thanks Rob

Good luck to you in Oz (and as a good, albeit ex-pat, Kiwi - I'll behave, and withhold comments about the West Island :) )

All

What a bad idea. That will take all the fun out of the forum.

You are what you type.

Yeah - no moderation, no taking back what you said when the red mist descended / you were spectacularly drunk / you were asleep / on drugs / your evil twin had temporarily taken over your mind.

There's no point in allowing people to change their posts, people have to think about what they say first. I've seen very few posts that were stupid or rude, and Rob's a sensible moderator.

Leave it the way it is, that's my vote.

Dan Shannon
(and his evil twin)
