We are getting strange occurances in our ProIV application.

It would seem as though ProIV has asked Oracle for some data and Oracle rather than giving the data just returns zeroes. This seems to decline after a reboot when Oracle has been refreshed. This could be allied with my previous post on losing contact error message.

Environment is ProIV Release 4.5.0.4, Oracle 7.3.4, AIX version 4.2.1.0

Does anyone know whats happening or got any ideas?

I experienced that kind of problem but on NT environment, I hope this could be a help to your problem. Make it sure that your default instance is the instance use by your application or otherwise reset your oracle server.

Unfortunately my DBA says this does not apply in this case as we are not NT.
