Despite the fact I have no experience with DB2, I'd say that, AS FAR AS PRO-IV IS CONCERNED, Oracle is a much better bet simply because the Oracle interface has been around far longer and hammered on by far more customers.
The Oracle interface was also rewritten in 4.0 for performance reasons and is now capable of adequate performance (see my comment elsewhere in this forum).
