Is there an easy way to access the information in a pro-isam file other than having to write a report or an update that loads it into a sequential file? For example, is there a way to access pro-isam files through MS Access or Excel?

Yes, this is possible.
There are several ways of doing this
a) Use Bus and Tasks and call a task to get the relevant information
Purchase the PRO ISAM API and write a DLL callable by
your spreadsheet or database
c) Contact your local PRO IV Sales representive to check
on the available of an ODBC driver for PRO ISAM
The third option is probably the best easiest.

You can also 'push' information to windows apps. and 'pull' information from windows apps using DDE. This is initiated from a PROIV session.
This will give you a basic interface. For more advanced usage such as business intelligence tools, you'll need the ODBC driver.

Where are you in the world - I'll get you a contact e-mail address.
What ERP system do you have ? Glovia/Chess I presume. Who did your company buy it from - Glovia, MDIS or Xerox.
Are you still on maintenance or not ?
Do you have rights to the source code or not ?
Answer that and I can put you in touch with exactly the right person; I'm not trying to squeeze you - just trying to figure out who you should speak to.
Thanks.

Hi Peter,
Thanks for the response. I am in the US. We do have Glovia and are still on maintenance. We bought it back when Xerox owned it so we have had it for a while. I don't think I have rights to the source code (if I did I would probably realize it). I have a hard time just getting specs on the bootstrap files.
Thank you for your help.
